Make hiking safer and more fun with EYVA

In collaboration with a german company from the communication industry, we were tasked to design a device for communication in groups outdoors. EYVA is designed for hiking, keeping safety and sustainable materials in mind.

Low-Tech Approach

EYVA is designed low-tech to be repaired and recycled easily. The battery is replaceable and the whole casing is waterproof for maximum fun and minimum complexity.

CONCEPT

Modular System

EYVA provides components for different attachment scenarios. While those components are mostly specificly designed for mountaineering, It can be combined with existing systems like the GoProMount.

USER EXPERIENCE

In Case of an Emergency

Eyva‘s SOS Function improves safety during hikes and optimizes searching for someone in case of an emergency. Questions that can be answered through the product, can also be accessed on the app.

Smart Connection

Even though EYVA works on her own as well, visual interaction is also possible by linking EYVA to a smartphone or a smartwatch.

The colours amplify the natural aesthetics while the sustainable material (AirCarbon) creates an emotional impact with the user.

VISUAL IDENTITY

Transparency

Transparency is an important factor for creating sustainable products. Eyva‘s website shows users what steps happen in the manufacturing process and which materials are used.

THE VISION

Collaborating with a communication industry partner was an interesting and new experience for our team. We took the task beyond the expected range and focused on sustainability and on creating a true value for the user. Since I am passionate about outdoor activities this project particularly was a fun and relatable task.
